Q: Do I need any qualifications to join the college courses?
A: No, all the college courses start from base level.
Q: Can I get funding for the course?
A: Career Development Loans are available or many of your local charities may contribute towards your course fees. For more advice you can call the college office.
Q: When do the courses start?
A: The Practitioners 1 Year Intensive Course and the Practitioners Advanced Year start in September each year. The Correspondence Course and The Clinical Practise Course start when you want them to.
Q: Can I omit certain modules if I have covered them in depth before?
A: Yes, providing that our lecturers are happy that you have covered all of the information required. You will, however, still be required to sit all examinations.
Q: How long will it take me to complete the Correspondence Course?
A: The Correspondence Course is flexible and so it can take as long as you want it to. The average time would vary between 12 and 15 months.
Q: What happens if I am absent on the attendance days?
A: The college can supply you with taped lectures to cover the sessions missed.
Q: How many books will I be required to purchase?
A: There are only a few books that we would suggest you buy, costing in the region of £100. Others can be borrowed from students or public libraries.
Q: What can I do with my qualification?
A: Most students choose to set up in a private practice or in a group practice. Others may join companies, teach or find research positions.
Q: Can I read some material prior to joining the course?
A: Yes, if you contact the college office we can supply you with a college reading list. |
